Some of the all-time great places are gone – at least in the physical sense. But in our memories Rebels will always dance on the tables at The Gin. There will always be a lively crowd in Forresters, drink specials at KC’s Tavern and movies will still flicker at The Hoka over brown bag refreshments.
But time marches on in Oxford. Great places are replaced by other great places and that is what Oxford 2 is all about. Larry thought it was high time to update his famous “Perfect Block.”
The stalwarts are still there. Places like the Downtown Grill, City Grocery, and Proud Larry’s are still mighty players on the Oxford scene. You can still shoot some stick at Ireland’s only now it is called Murff’s.
Other great locations now take their rightful place in Rebel lore. Old Venice with its upstairs Burgundy Room is here on the print as well as the Oasis, the Library and the Rib Cage. Others such as Parrish’s, Longshot, Ajax, Pearl Street Pasta and 208 are featured as well. Just as in Oxford 1 this perfect block, more vibrant in color and richer in detail, is poised to provide those memorable times with cherished friends. Hotty Toddy!
